Expose: The Killing of Harry Kelly

On December 1, 2025, my Papillon, Harry, had his precious life unnecessarily ended at Massey University’s Companion Animal 'Hospital'. Heartbreakingly, I consented to this . . . but on the basis of coercion under what, horrifically, turned out to have been false pretences.

As I later discovered, Massey’s veterinary staff had manufactured a completely bogus "neurological event" diagnosis to disguise their unwarranted and unauthorised administration of a near-paralysing sedating cocktail (administered for their own convenience, and repeatedly across a compressed nine-hour period). They falsified the cause of his paralytic and erratic presentation to (very psychologically aggressively and manipulatively) coerce me into consenting to “euthanasia”.

While the hospital presented Harry as having had a terminal "neurological event" that required immediate termination, Harry (as I later discovered through my own forensic research) was simply under heavy, undisclosed (and certainly, unauthorised) sedation.

I am now fighting to uncover the further truths . . . which is no mean feat in the face of the likes of Massey University’s legal shields, bureaucratic deflect-and-delay modus operandi, and seemingly complete absence of any accountability – internally, at least. It will remain to be seen if they face any form of external regulatory consequences for this egregious, pre-meditated plan and its (and Harry’s resultant) execution.

Heinously, Harry's suffering was not limited to the Massey ICU staff's catastrophic, repeated overdosing of him with Gabapentin (a drug specifically contraindicated for renally-impaired patients, as the Massey ICU staff knew he was, both from his pre-existing records and from the blood tests taken that very night) and potentiated with a second drug.. What those further truths have also begun revealing is that Harry was - unbelievably - disconnected (just 8.5 hours into a prescribed 24-hour protocol) from the rehydrating IV fluids that had been the sole reason for his admission and that, after the catastrophic overdosing, were needed more than ever to help his struggling kidneys flush out the massive levels of cumulative toxicity.

But it was the reason for which he was disconnected that is most chilling of all:

Harry was disconnected from these now life-essential fluids to take him out of his cage to become a literal lab rat for student experimentation and filming for teaching videos (on cell phones).

And if you think an institution charged with "caring" for people's pets couldn't get any worse, try this: Massey staff appear to have told the pet cremation company to dispose of Harry's ashes, because I "didn't want him back" . . . in the face of my having actually wanted him to be individually cremated in special facilities to ensure the ashes I received back were actually his.

Don't think it could possibly have gotten any worse? It would seem it could.

The cremation company let slip that he was "picked up with all the other post-mortems", "in a bag". Both the cremation company, Pet Farewells of Hamilton and Wellington (I do NOT advise entrusting any pet's "after care" to this company), and Massey, have shut down all communications, as I continue to try to ascertain if Harry's ashes still actually exist . . . somewhere.

In the meantime, DoggieMamma.com has been resurrected both to document my investigation thus far, and to warn other pet parents of what really goes on behind those closed ICU doors.

I will continue on in my mission – in honour of my precious and beloved little Harry – to force full transparency and accountability not only from Massey regarding its ethics (or very serious lack thereof), but also across the broader veterinary landscape.
